Ardbeg was first founded in 1815 and mothballed between 1981 and 1987. In 1997, it was bought by Glenmorangie Plc, who carried out major renovation work. Distilled at a time when the distillery was in operation for only two months of the year, this version shows the prestigious Islay malt in a particularly elegant light. With stunning brilliance, every note in the palette of flavours and aromas has over time taken on an almost lyrically pure expression, with an oily, earthy and liquorice peat adding additional character.
