The Ardmore distillery has always produced a peaty single malt (between 12 and 14 ppm phenols). The peat used in the malting process comes from St Fergus, a village in Aberdeenshire. It also produces a non-peated version called Ardlair.
This Ardmore was distilled in 2008, aged for 15 years and bottled at 46%. It has an intense, smoky profile, with aromas of green apple, vanilla and nuts.
The Distillery Labels range reflects the special relationship Gordon & MacPhail has enjoyed with a handful of distilleries for over a century. Entrusted year after year with new make spirits (distillates), Gordon & MacPhail has developed its art of maturing whisky and showcases each expression on a unique label. An honour for these now iconic distilleries, which used to bottle little or none of their single malt under their own label.
