Balblair, founded in 1790 in the Highlands, is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. It is distinguished by its slow and careful distillation, producing fruity, elegant and balanced whiskies, aged mainly in bourbon casks with a few touches of sherry.
Created in 1968 by the great whisky visionary, “Mr. George” Urquhart, the “Connoisseurs Choice” range now includes more than 2,000 bottlings from around 100 Scottish distilleries. The story of each Connoisseurs Choice whisky is told on its label: type of cask, bottling date, proof, vintage, and tasting notes. Always non-chill filtered, these rare single casks and small batch expressions have been created thanks to Gordon & MacPhail's unique expertise in marrying distillate with oak casks, passed down through four generations of the same family.
