This Bourgoin Cognac ""boisé de fût neuf"" is naturally the darkest cognac on the market! This cognac has been successively aged for 8 months in 3 new barrels of Limousin coarse grain oak for a total of 24 months. The aim of this special ageing process is to extract as many tannins and aromas as possible, so as to come as close as possible to the absolute blackness permitted by the Cognac AOC.
The organoleptic characteristics provided by the tannins in the oak wood are a slight bitterness on the palate and very pronounced aromas of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, liquorice, toffee, tobacco, coffee and leather.
