Particularly popular with independent bottlers, the single malts from the Caol Ila distillery on Islay have a character and versatility that have greatly contributed to their reputation. This Caol Ila is a firm favourite with peat lovers. Unaffected by its ageing in ex-bourbon barrels, it has an oily, smoky, iodised profile, underpinned by notes of charcoal, camphor and salt-preserved lemons. Like The Un-Chillfiltered Collection, the whiskies in the Very Cloudy range are bottled from small batches of two to five casks. Reduced to 40% without chill filtration or colouring, they have a rich, highly aromatic profile and a slightly cloudy appearance.
