The Caroni State distillery was founded in 1918 and closed in 2003. The acquisition of hundreds of its casks by Luca Gargano, CEO of the Italian bottler Velier, introduced enthusiasts around the world to this heavy rum through bottlings matured exclusively in a tropical climate. This bottling was matured in Trinidad and Tobago until 2019 before being brought to France and aged in demijohns in Cognac. An outstanding Caroni, the flavour and aroma palette is rich and plentiful and takes our senses on an intense journey.
