The Return of a Legend: Chichibu The Peated.
Four years of anticipation culminate in this highly awaited release. For the first time since 2022, Chichibu unveils its new peated single malt expression—a masterclass in precision and Japanese craftsmanship.
To create this exceptional profile, more than 40 heavily peated casks (50 PPM) were meticulously selected and vatted together. The core of this whisky matured in premium bourbon barrels, delivering Chichibu’s signature vibrant character. For added layers of complexity, a portion was aged in rich Oloroso sherry casks, while another was matured in bespoke hogsheads, re-coopered by hand at Chichibu’s own on-site cooperage.
The nose presents an elegant smoky character, harmonized with a gentle sweetness and a mellow, grain-derived softness reminiscent of almond. On the palate, it is rich and rounded, with notes of ginger and juicy fruits. Toward the finish, soft smoky and herbal notes gently unfold.
