Located in Barbados, in the St. George Valley, on the site of a former sugar estate and distillery closed in 1984 from which it takes its name, Foursquare was founded in 1996 by Richard Seale.
It produces both “light” rums at 94%, distilled in a triple column Coffey still, and “heavy” rums at 78.8%, distilled in a double retort pot still. Remarkably consistent and at the same time extremely nuanced, this Foursquare bottled under the Habitation Velier range unfolds throughout the tasting a palette of fruity, spicy, floral, medicinal, and finely oaky aromas. Its irresistible charm culminates even in the empty glass, filled with lactic notes that are subtle and full of freshness.
