Founded in 1840, Glen Grant was owned for many years by the Chivas Brothers group (Pernod Ricard) before being acquired by the Campari group in 2005. Mainly matured in bourbon casks and bottled as a 5 or 10 year old, Glen Grant is a little-known single malt, given the distillery's production capacity. With almost 6 million litres of pure alcohol a year, Glen Grant ranks fourth after Roseisle, Glenfiddich and Macallan. It is best known among single malt enthusiasts for its versions matured in first-fill sherry casks by the merchant Gordon & MacPhail. This Glen Grant, distilled in 1966, was aged for 50 years in sherry casks before being bottled in 2016 at 54.60%. Reveals long, powerful characteristics with aromas of dried fruit, chocolate and honey.
