La Fabrique des Bières d'Anjou", also known as "La Piautre", is a French brewery-distillery located in La Ménitré, Maine-et-Loire.
In 2013, it integrated a malt house and started producing whisky, first with the help of an itinerant distiller and then, from 2017, with their own Charentais-type still. Their local, artisanal whisky is made from the harvests of three farmers within a 20km radius. This version, made from the local organically grown 'aperture' barley variety, malted and smoked on site, was double distilled over an open flame in January 2019. Its multi-faceted peat highlights the exotic, honeyed and gourmet tones of its aromatic and taste palette.
