Old School Malts is a series launched by Andrew Symington, now presenting its 3rd edition. This 50-Year-Old Single Malt, the ‘Coastal Edition’, was matured in a First Fill Sherry cask before being bottled at 43.1%.
Although the distillery remains undisclosed, its location facing the Isle of Jura leaves no doubt as to its style: intense sherry notes beautifully balanced by a characteristic unpeated freshness. Bottled at 43.1%, this is an exceptional whisky with an elegant, saline profile that opens with notes of grapefruit, chocolate, and dried fruits.
