Papalin is a project dedicated to rum blends, created by Luca Gargano.
After the success of the first edition launched by Velier in October 2013 (which became a collector's item), the range is renewed with two new releases: Papalin Jamaica 7 Year Old and Papalin Jamaica 7 Year Old Navy Proof.
Jamaica is Vellier's newest research and selection territory, and these two new Papalin rums represent a new blending horizon. They are "vatted rums" (a blend of different pot stills), fully aged in the tropics, in the respective warehouses of the distilleries where they were produced: Worthy Park and Hampden Estate.
Papalin defines itself as a "tropical dependent bottler" because Velier is the only company that creates direct partnerships with distilleries when it comes to sourcing and aging rums, and therefore depends on the distilleries until the product is bottled. Thus, all projects are planned hand in hand with the local partners in terms of sourcing and aging, which always takes place in the official warehouses of the distilleries.
