Bozal Tobasiche is an expression from the Single Maguey range, crafted from Tobasiche—a wild agave variety of the Karwinskii family that takes 12 to 13 years to reach full maturity. Produced in the village of Río de Ejutla, Oaxaca, this artisanal mezcal is crafted by master mezcalero Angel Cruz. The agaves are cooked and then crushed traditionally using a tahona stone wheel, before being distilled in a copper pot still equipped with a refrescadera condenser. It reveals a smooth, complex, and atypical profile, featuring quince, anise, and striking mineral notes on the nose. On the palate, botanical and herbaceous nuances fully unfold, making way for a fresh and elegantly green finish.
