After ageing for at least 4 years in French oak barrels, the Cuvée Spéciale Karukera Black Edition Alligator is refined in new barrels that have been specially charred. One of the toasts is carried out until the inside of the barrel is charred, taking on the rough and shiny texture of an alligator hide, hence the name of this Cuvée Spéciale. This unique toasting allows the cask to interact easily with the rum, imparting notes of brown sugar and intense spicy, smoky flavours. _x000D_
