The history of the Tobermory distillery, renamed Ledaig between 1972 and 1975, is punctuated by periods of closure and re-opening. Since 1993, it has produced two single malts, Tobermory unpeated and Ledaig peated (between 30 and 40 ppm phenols). In turn very peaty, rancio, heady, exotic, chocolatey, salty, empyreumatic and spicy, this version brilliantly synthesises the singular and bewitching style that characterises the best Ledaig.
