The name KURO refers to the shiny black finish of Japanese lacquer. On tasting, KURO sake brings out delicate aromas of apple and banana, then strikes a balance between savory depth and dryness on the palate before leaving the palate clean and fresh. Kuro sake is a junmai ginjo made from yamada nishiki and sankei nishiki rice, polished to 55%.
Kuro sake goes perfectly with shellfish, red meat and green vegetables, especially astringent ones such as asparagus and artichokes.
