The Mhoba distillery was founded in 2013 by Robert Greaves on a 400-hectare estate where it grows an organic, hand-harvested local variety of sugarcane named Nkomazi.
Its ester-rich, pure cane juice rum undergoes a long fermentation that can last as long as three weeks. Named Satara after one of the rest camps in Kruger Park, this rum was aged in a Woodford Reserve bourbon cask for fifty months and is packed with Mhoba’s trademark exuberance, power and body.
A true melting pot of empyreumatic, balsamic and medicinal notes, spices and tropical fruits, the flavour and aroma palette stands out for its energy and fresh expression.
